Sudip Roy Barman, Congress Working Committee member, alleged that the party is facing hurdles in organizing large-scale public rallies due to a perceived shortage of vehicles.

Is the opposition Congress facing hurdles in gathering supporters so that they can participate in the campaign?

Sudip Roy Barman, Congress Working Committee member, alleged that the party is facing hurdles in organizing large-scale public rallies due to a perceived shortage of vehicles.

Besides the grand old party has also alleged that this shortage is artificially created, potentially limiting the participation of opposition supporters in campaign events.

Briefing newspersons, Sudip Roy Barman said, “The ruling front has an advantage everywhere. There is a syndicate. Maximum of the vehicles have been booked by the Commission (EC), but when we requested for requisition of vehicles, the Commission expressed its inability to do so after our request. We were informed that we will not get the exact number of vehicles we sought for. We are ready to give full payment, follow every rule of contract, but despite that we were not given vehicles. There is no way for us. But when the Prime Minister comes, vehicles are readily available (for BJP).”

Besides, to bolster the campaigning of the Congress as well as the I.N.D.I. alliance, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be arriving in the poll bound state on April 16.

Confirming the development, Sudip Roy Barman said, “I am happy to say that our all India leaders and star campaigner All India Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is coming on 16th. After her arrival a road show will be organized by the Congress as well as the INDI alliance.”

Priyanka Gandhi will be drumming up support for Asish Kumar Saha, the Congress candidate contesting in the West Tripura parliamentary constituency, as well as Ratan Saha, the candidate representing the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in the Ramnagar assembly by-election.

In the Tripura East Lok Sabha seat, it will be a direct contest between BJP’s Kriti Devi Singh Debbarma and CPI-M’s Rajendra Reang.

Voting for the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat and Ramnagar (Assembly bypolls) will be held on April 19. Polling for the Tripura (East) Lok Sabha seat will be held on April 26.
