Debbarma said CPIM was in power for 25 years, they could have given what the people had wanted, but they didn’t.
Amid financial crisis being faced by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) which has not only affected development in tribal areas but also delayed payment of salaries, TIPRA Motha supremo Pradyot Debbarma along with Chief Executive Member of TTAADC Purna Chandra Jamatia, met Chief Minister Manik Saha at his official residence on Sunday evening.
The meeting is the first after Pradyot’s TIPRA Motha joined the BJP led government.
As per inputs, the meeting, in which two recently inducted ministers of the Motha, Animesh Debbarma and Briswaketu Debbarma, were also present, continued for an hour.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Pradyot Debbarma said that they met the CM in connection to immediate release of funds for the district council so that some development work can proceed. To which the CM has assured he will look into the request.
Debbarma added that the budget is not enough for the TTAADC, therefore, they had submitted a letter to the CM so that ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sabka Vishwas’ can also happen in the Autonomous District Council (ADC) and the CM assured that he will go through the request.
When asked if the candidate for the ST reserved East Tripura parliamentary constituency has been finalized, Pradyot who has returned from New Delhi just couple of days back, said that there has been no new development in the seat distribution.
However, he he once again reiterated that for the recently signed tripartite accord to be implemented, the right person has to be sent to Delhi.
“We want to send the right candidate to Delhi who will cooperate with us and not go against the spirit of the accord,” said Pradyot.
