The event attracted participants from all eight districts of Tripura

With an aim to optimize the role of sports officials and physical instructors, the Tripura Government organized a one-day skill enhancement, physical test and workshop, an event where participants from all eight districts of Tripura were present.

Apart from performing specific tasks for skill development as part of competitions, sports officials and physical instructors were engaged in live demonstrations of first aid and emergency response techniques for sports injuries.

The primary objective of the event was to identify talent within the existing pool of resources and facilitating skill upgrades for optimal performance. District-wise grading of physical instructors and sports officials was a key focus of the initiative.

Director of the Youth Affairs and Sports department Satya Brata Nath insisted that instructors as well as officials engaged in the field of sports must have a better understanding of the updates in their relevant spheres.

Nath said, “There should be a periodical training of people working in the field, like physical instructors and officers. If the teachers don’t have sufficient knowledge of their own, what will they teach their students? That is why we have organiszed this event for skill upgradation and knowledge gathering.”
The event was attended by Olympian gymnast Dipa Karmakar.
