Festive atmosphere in Northeast on Ram Temple consecration day

A live screening of the Ram Mandir consecration programme was also held at the Durga Mandir in Itanagar by Arunachal’s BJP unit.

People in several Northeastern states took out rallies and organized religious programmes to celebrate the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya .

In Meghalaya, Ram puja was organised in various temples throughout the state. Parts of Shillong were decked up with posters and flags of Lord Ram. The chanting of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ reverberated through the air as devotees in large numbers took part in the celebrations. Vehicles in Shillong town were seen carrying saffron flag featuring Lord Ram.

Dr BDR Tiwari, Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor visited Durga Mandir at Garikhana Shillong where the consecration of Ram Temple was celebrated.

In Arunachal Pradesh, a mega procession was taken out at Bomdila, the district headquarters West Kameng district.

The procession started from the Radha-Krishna mandir in Police Colony where people in large numbers were seen chanting Jai Shree Ram . In the evening, a special pooja is being organised at the temple.

A live screening of the Ram Mandir consecration programme was also held at the Durga Mandir in Itanagar by Arunachal’s BJP unit. 

The party installed 5 LED televisions at various places of Itanagar Capital Region for live screening of the entire Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration programme from 11am onwards.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, (Retd) attended the live screening at the Durga Mandir.

In Assam’s Haflong, a procession was taken out from Town Committee field, marched through Cultural Hall – Sengyajik Jaya Thaosen statue – Esser Fuel Pump – Convent Road – NL Daulagupu Sports Complex – Ladies Park – Council Rotary, Mahatma Gandhi Statue – and converged at the Town Committee.

In Sikkim devotees thronged MG Marg in Gangtok as processions were taken out to celebrate the consecration.
