Doctor in Guwahati Accused of Molesting Female Patient Under Pretext of Therapy

Guwahati: The matter came to light after the victim lodged an FIR at Dispur Police Station, prompting swift action by the police.
In a shocking incident, a doctor at a private clinic in the Six Mile area of Guwahati has been accused of molesting a young female patient under the guise of providing therapy.
The accused, identified as Dr Subrata Dey, is also alleged to have secretly recorded videos of female patients during medical consultations.
The matter came to light after the victim lodged an FIR at Dispur Police Station, prompting swift action by the police. Dr. Dey was apprehended late at night and taken into custody.
According to the victim, she had been receiving treatment for back pain since last month. The victim said, “While giving therapy, the doctor touched me in different parts and I felt uneasy. Today also I went for the same, but I couldn’t keep quiet as it was crossing limits and he was recording a video from my back.”
The incident has raised urgent concerns over patient safety and ethical practices in private clinics across the region.
