The Tripura Police busted an inter-state drugs smuggling racket and apprehended 3 drug peddlers in connection with the case.

Acting on specific inputs, the Tripura Police intercepted a car with Assam registration number at the border town Dharmanagar. Upon frisking the vehicle and the passengers, cops recovered a soapbox containing 12 grams of heroin.

Following this the police arrested the peddlers identified as Sahib Uddin (19), Suman Uddin (22), and Riyazul Uddin (25).

The trio hail from Barigram of Patharkandi in Assam’s Karimganj district.

A case has been filed under NDPS Act as further investigation is underway.
