The deportation comes within a month of the Churanchandpur ambush.

It may be recalled here that on November 13, Manipur witnessed one of the deadliest attacks in the recent past after the Commanding Officer of the 46 Assam Rifles Colonel Viplab Tripathi, his wife, six-year-old son and four other soldiers were killed in an ambush by valley-based PLA militants.
The incident had stirred nationwide condemnation.
