Assam Congress had to face yet another burn, as the official campaign page of the party misrepresented a tea garden image from Taiwan and posted the same with the caption “Tea Garden estate workers Assam”.
Reacting sharply against the distortion of Assam’s tea garden image, State Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma termed the incident as an insult to Assam and her Tea Garden workers.
Taking to Twitter, Sarma tweeted, “Official Congress campaign page is using photo of tea garden from Taiwan to say “Assam Bachao”. Congress leaders can’t even recognise Assam? This is an insult to Assam and Tea Garden workers of our state.”
Sarma also released a photo of the original image from Taiwan to authenticate the image used by the Congress on their official campaign Facebook page.
