Nagaland Lokayukta Justice Uma Nath Singh has ordered a probe into allegations of corruption against deputy chief minister Y Patton.
The probe order was issued on the basis of a complaint filed by ruling NDPP’s state youth wing president Vicca S Aye.
The complainant alleged that the deputy chief minister had ‘proposed the candidates to approach him for help at the interview stage, if they qualify the written exams of the Nagaland Public Service Commission.’
Meanwhile, the Lokayukta also directed deputy chief minister to file his response to the allegations leveled against him in the form of an affidavit.
The Nagaland Lokayukta also ordered the coordinating officer/Inspector of Nagaland Lokayukta Police Establishment to register a case for preliminary inquiry, to be conducted by the “chief minister of Nagaland, who shall submit his report on affidavit before the next date of hearing.
In a complaint to the Lokayukta, former student leader Vicca S Aye alleged that Patton while speaking at a program recently has appealed NPSC candidates to approach him at the interview stage. The complaint was filed on February 19.
