The second meeting of the High Level Committee constituted by the Centre to look into the implementation of Clause 6 of Assam Accord is underway at the Administrative Staff College, Guwahati.

Significantly, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who was slated to attend the meet had to give it a miss due to some urgent engagement.

It may be mentioned that the first meeting of the High Level Committee was held in Delhi on July 24th. The committee members also had an interactive session with Union Home Minister Amit Shah following their first meet in North Block.

The committee headed by Former Gauhati High Court Judge – Justice Biplab Kumar Sarma, comprises of Assam Advocate General – Ramesh Bor-patra-Gohain, Arunachal Pradesh Advocate General – Niloy Dutta, Former Bureaucrat – Subhash Das, Former Assam – ADGP Pallab Bhattacharya, Academecian – Srishti-dhar Dutta, Author and Columnist – Sumanta Chaliha, Academecian – Jaikanta Sharma, Northeast Live Editor-in-Chief – Wasbir Hussain, AASU Chief Advisor – Samujjal Bhattacharya, AASU President – Dipanka Kumar Nath, AASU General Secretary – Lurin Jyoti Gogoi and Joint Secretary Satyendra Garg.
