Hit-and-Run Cases in Guwahati: 3 Deaths in 3 Days

In yet another horrific hit-and-run case, a woman died on the spot in Guwahati on Sunday night after she was hit by a speeding car.

The accident took place near Lalung Gaon on the Jalukbari-Lokhra road (NH 37).

The speeding car hit the woman who was crossing the road and fled from the scene.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

Later, Garchuk Police arrived at the scene and took the body for a postmortem examination.

This is the third hit-and-run case in three days.

On February 24, a similar accident occurred in Guwahati’s Bharalumukh area, when the biker was hit by an unknown vehicle killing him on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Kamal Baruah, a young musician hailing from the musical ensemble ‘Smack Band’.

On February 23, a man was killed after an unknown vehicle hit him near the DTO office in Betkuchi, Guwahati. The deceased has been identified as Sumit Boro who hailed from Barpeta district in Assam and has been residing in Guwahati for the past several years.
