The Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary known for its rich diversity of wild animals have constantly kept a strict vigil on illegal trespassing of human beings inside the sanctuary and in the effort have arrested five habitual and dreaded hunters from Sanyasi Tukura under Anchalghat Range.
Those arrested are identified as Dibash Pait, Diganta Doley, Batsa Doley, Rajesh Sungkurang, and Nong Doley.
Along with a hunted Hog Deer, three Bore Guns, 14 live cartridges and 3 mobile handsets were seized from the hunters. The arrested hunters were handed over to Sille-Oyan police station.
Located at about 16 km south-east from Pasighat town, the sanctuary is considered as one of the factors behind restoring the ecological balance of the region, besides providing safety to the animals of Poba Reserve Forest along the Assam-Arunachal border.
