The Assam Congress has been forced to set up a disciplinary committee headed by a senior vice president following serious complaints of Panchayat poll tickets being distributed by some party leaders in exchange for money.

The committee will look into the complaints and enquire into the allegations of favoritism, collection of money and other anomalies in selection of candidates and distribution of party tickets for the upcoming Panchayat elections.

The eight member committee has been directed to submit a report of its findings by tomorrow.
