The India International Cherry Blossom Festival began in Shillong today. The festival which is organised every year is dedicated to peace, prosperity and tranquility.
Apart from the scenic sight of glowing cherry blossom, visitors to the fest can enjoy fashion shows, rock concerts, beauty pageants and can also participate in amateur golf tournament.
While, the Polo Grounds in Shillong is the main venue of the festival, visitors can also enjoy illuminated cherry blossoms and fine dining at the picturesque Wards Lake.
The Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival is organized by the Meghalaya government in association with the Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.
