Election Commission team arrives in Mizoram

An Election Commission team headed by its Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat arrived on a two day visit in Mizoram to study the preparedness for the November 28 assembly

An Election Commission team headed by its Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat arrived on a two day visit in Mizoram to study the preparedness for the November 28 assembly elections.

During its visit, the election commission team will get into deliberations with district administration officials, police authorities besides other stakeholders.

The single-phase election to the 40-member Mizoram assembly would be held on November 28.

The statutory notification would be issued on November 2 and the last date for filing nominations is November 9.

As many as 7,68,181 people will be eligible to cast their votes in the upcoming elections.
