Assam pays rich tributes to legendary music maestro late Bhupen Hazarika on his 92nd birth anniversary.
People across Assam have already started pouring in at his memorial site in Guwahati to offer glowing tributes to the Bard of Assam. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also offered his tributes to the music legend.
Regarded to be the golden voice of Assam, late Hazarika was an acclaimed singer, lyricist, music director and a poet who enjoyed cult status in the entire Northeast, West Bengal and even Bangladesh.
He also composed music for several Hindi movies. Two of his most well-known music compositions were in the Dimple Kapadia-starrer Rudaali and Raveena Tandon-starrer Daman.
Meanwhile, a special program commemorating the musical stalwart is being organised on the banks of the Dighalipukhuri by the All Assam Students Union.
