Assam: Rash driving caught on CCTV, traffic cop hit by 2-wheeler

First Published: 23rd February, 2024 16:31 IST

From the CCTV footage it can be seen that the students in the 2-wheeler apparently refused to stop when signalled by the traffic police.

Despite a call for more sensitivity towards road safety, reckless driving seems to be still persistent among the youths.

A traffic police being hit by 3 students on board a 2-wheeler at Moriani in Assam’s Jorhat district is a glaring example of this.

The entire incident was caught on CCTV camera.

In the video violation of traffic rules can be clearly seen as the 3 students without caring for the consequences were travelling in the same 2-wheeler.

But, apparently when the traffic police tried to stop them, they refused to stop before hitting him.

Soon after being hit, the cop collapsed on the road.

However, police swung into action in search of the trio and managed to arrest them.

The trio have been identified as Vineet Dey, Subhankar Debnath and Sagar Pansari.
