Volatility continues in Meghalaya politics with People’s Democratic Front Chief PN Syiem stating that a final decision on the common candidate for Ranikor will be taken on July 10.

Talking to Northeast Live today, Syiem said the fate of the common candidate will be decided following a meeting at the residence of UDP president Donkupar Roy on Tuesday which will be attended by representatives of all political parties.

Significantly, Syiem added that the common candidate could be between him and UDP member Pius Marwein.

These developments significantly come a day after chief minister Conrad Sangma said all is well between the allies and that the PDF has pledged its support to the MDA government till the end of its term.
