At a time when the Home Ministry has alerted the state of Assam on NSCN-K joining hands with the ULFA-Independent, reports of a fierce encounter between the Assam Rifles and NSCN (IM) militants at Tissa in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district has come in.
The encounter, going on since yesterday evening, has reportedly seen a casualty in the form of a hardcore NSCN (IM) militant. No casualty has been reported on the side of the security forces yet.
Reportedly, additional reinforcements of security forces are being rushed into the area as the encounter continues to rage on. Choppers have also been pressed into action to track other militants in the vicinity.
So far, a large cache of arms and ammunition’s have been recovered from the area.
