AASU leader assaulted by local trader in Golaghat

A senior leader of the All Asom Students Union has been allegedly assaulted by a local trader at Golaghat. The AASU leader in question is Goalpara district in-charge Ratul Dutta.
A senior leader of the All Asom Students Union has been allegedly assaulted by a local trader at Golaghat.
The AASU leader in question is Goalpara district in-charge Ratul Dutta. The trader Anup Gupta has alleged that Dutta tried to extort money from him along with a group of five men.
On the other hand, the AASU members have alleged that Gupta had brought in a group of traders along with him and assaulted Dutta while also allegedly taking away his gold chain, watch and money worth Rs 2000.
At the same time, however, a group of local traders alleged that Gupta was involved in stealing clothes worth Rs 50,000 from a warehouse.
They have further stated that Gupta made the assault on the AASU leader as he was instrumental in exposing Gupta’s misdeeds.
The incident happened close to the Golaghat railway station. Dutta is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested Anup Gupta and his father regarding the matter.
