In yet another instance of moral policing in Assam, a woman in Mangaldoi district was allegedly tortured by locals.
The shocking incident took place on June 18, wherein a woman, a mother of four children, was assaulted publicly. The victim was not only beaten up, but also paraded by the mob which comprised of mostly women.
Shockingly, the entire incident took place in the presence of police officials from the Mangaldoi police station, who did not even reach out to help the victim.
