Today is World Environment Day and the theme this year is ‘Beat the Plastic’.
Every year a global host country is picked up where the official celebrations take place and this year India will be hosting the International Environmental Day Celebrations.
Meanwhile, celebrations have begun all across the nation with thousands of participants coming out with different initiatives to promote a plastic free environment.
Significantly, environment lovers in Assam’s Guwahati city are also planning several programmes within and around the city. The day is also likely to be observed by nature lovers all over the region.
