The protesting women warned of intensified agitation if their demands were not met within the given timeframe.

Women from various parts of Imphal Valley gathered at the BJP headquarters in Imphal today, demanding the formation of an elected government within three days.

Their protest highlights growing discontent over the prolonged absence of a representative administration in the state.

Memorandums were submitted to both the Governor of Manipur and the State President of BJP Manipur, urging immediate action to establish an elected government. The protesting women warned of intensified agitation if their demands were not met within the given timeframe.

In a parallel move, women from different areas also assembled at the residence of A. Sharda Devi. A delegation of five women met with her and submitted a memorandum calling for the restoration of peace, action against narco-terrorists, and the revocation of the resident’s Rule.

The protestors later proceeded to Raj Bhawan to submit the same memorandum, reinforcing their demands for an elected government to be put in place at the earliest and lifting President’s Rule from the state.

Last week, hundreds of women took to the streets of Imphal demanding the reinstatement of Biren Singh as Chief Minister and revocation of President’s Rule from Manipur.

Womenfolk from Nongpok Sanjenbam village in Imphal East staged a protest march and sit-in, calling for the formation of a government and opposing the imposition of President’s Rule.
