Manipur on Wednesday registered 52 more cases of COVID-19, taking the state’s overall tally to 552.

The fresh 52 cases include 32 males and 20 female, of which, 30 were confirmed as COVID-19 positive at the VRDLs of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) while 22 cases were detected at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).

Of the positive cases, 10 persons hail from Bishnupur, 1 from Churachandpur, 4 from Chandel, 2 from Imphal West, 4 from Kakching, 1 from Kamjong, 4 from Kangpokpi, 6 from Thoubal and 20 from Ukhrul districts.

All patients are returnees to the state from other parts of the country. They have been shifted to the Covid Care Facilities.

The total number of active cases in Manipur has increased to 360 while the recoveries stands at 192.

Meanwhile, 33 persons have been discharged from RIMS on Wednesday after they were found coronavirus-free on RT PCR test. The state’s recovery rate is at 34.78.
