Youth organisations of Tripura on Thursday staged protests in Agartala and demanded strict action against the travelling ticket examiner (TTE) of Indian Railways who was seen engaged in a heated argument with a woman passenger and pushing and shoving her on board the Lokmanya Tilak Express enroute to Agartala.

Members of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of CPI-M, and Tribal Youth Federation (TYF) staged massive protests at Agartala Railway Station against the shocking unruly behaviour of the TTE.

According to sources, the incident took place two days ago when the train was moving between Ambassa and Teliamura stations. The incident was captured on video and is now going viral on social media.
In the video, two TTEs can be seen engaged in a heated argument with a young woman, during which one of them is seen pushing and shoving her and physically abusing her. The altercation quickly escalated, prompting other passengers to intervene to prevent more physical confrontations. The incident has sparked outrage and widespread criticism.

Addressing the media, the DYFI state president Palash Bhowmik said that DYFI and TYF have lodged a formal complaint with Railway authorities in Agartala demanding stringent action against the accused TTE and has sought justice for the victim. They have also submitted a memorandum to the station manager in Agartala.

Both the organizations have also demanded better security and services in trains to and from Tripura.
