He was received by Arunachal Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan, in the presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu visited the Dorjee Convention Centre in Itanagar earlier in the day. The Vice President addressed the research scholars and faculty members at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST).
While addressing a gathering at the Convention Centre, Chief Minister Pema Khandu urged the Vice President to create a separate IAS cadre in the state and to apprise the matter to the Government of India.
The Chief Minister has demanded the creation of a separate cadre so that IAS officers who are posted to the state and serve in Arunachal for merely 2 to 3 years, can serve in the state more efficiently and for a longer duration.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor B D Mishra, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, MP Ninong Ering and several others were also present in the function that was organised at the Convention Centre.
