Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar lauds Dibrugarh University’s accomplishments at its 21st Convocation Ceremony

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar acknowledged the significant role that education plays in bringing about societal change and development
Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar today presided over the 21st Convocation Ceremony of the Dibrugarh University as the Chief Guest where he delivered the convocation address to the students and faculty.
The Convocation Ceremony was held near Bishnu Rabha Rangamancha at Dibrugarh University.
Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria conferred the degrees to the eligible candidates who qualified for their degrees of the university.
There were 11,431 applicants. 75 of them were PhD students, 72 were MPhil students, and 39 were Gold Medal receivers.
In his address, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar praised the accomplishments of the university, including being chosen as one of the select 76 institutions of higher education in the country to host and participate in the G20 University Connect program.
He also acknowledged the significant role that education plays in bringing about societal change and development.
“I greatly admire and appreciate the cooperation between the Central and the State Governments in the healthcare sector, Education Sector. I take education as the most effective transformational mechanism to bring about equity, equality, progress, and development in this society,” said Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also congratulated the students and the faculties of the university and lauded the university for its contribution to the state’s education sector.
CM Sarma urged the students to dream to be an employer rather than an employee.
CM Sarma said that students should dream to be an employer so that they can use their skills and abilities to create opportunities for others and bring happiness into the lives of ten more individuals.
He further said that identity of the modern Assam depends on the success of the states education system.
Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Union minister of state Rameswar Teli and Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu were also present at the event.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has arrived in the Northeast for a day-long visit to Assam and Manipur today. His visit to Assam and Manipur highlights the government’s efforts to promote education and development in the region.
