Veteran actor Javed Khan Amrohi passed away on Tuesday, February 14, at the age of 60. He was known for his work in films such as Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Chak De India, Lagaan and Andaz Apna Apna. Actor Akhilendra Mishra, who acted with him in Lagaan, confirmed the news to AajTak.. He revealed that he was in touch with him through the Indian People’s Theatre Association’s WhatsApp group

JAVED KHAN AMROHI NO MORE

Javed Khan Amrohi, who acted in films such as Lagaan and Chak De India, has passed away. He breathed his last on February 14. Akhilendra Mishra confirmed the news and opened up about his association with him. He also revealed that Javed had not been keeping well off late.

“We were connected through an IPTA WhatsApp group. I came to know of his death on the same. He stayed in Mumbai with his family. He was not well for some time. I had a long association with him. We started our careers at the same time. We did many films together. We were also part of shows through IPTA. I last met him at the IPTA festival. He was lively. I considered him to be a storehouse of knowledge.”

ABOUT JAVED KHAN AMROHI

Javed Amrohi was an important part of the film industry. He acted in films such as Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India and Aamir Khan-led Lagaan to name a few. He had been in ill health for some time. He died because of lung failure. His last rites will be held today, February 14.
