Police seized large quantity of urea in Assam’s Cachar district in an operation conducted on the night of January 30th.

As per reports, as many as 4500 bags of fertilizer which were meant to be allotted to farmers of Assam by the Government were seized by Cachar Police while they were being allegedly transported to neighbouring Mizoram. Reportedly, these bags were being transported in 7 trucks when Cachar Police intrecepted them on their way to Mizoram.

Speaking exclusively to Northeast Live, Cachar SP Dr. Ramandeep Kaur stated that they had launched the operation after receiving inputs and are now investigating so as to nab the mastermind behind this illegal nexus. When asked about the possibility of involvement of any officials, the Cachar SP said that they are on the investigation and action will be taken as per law.
