In a shocking incident, a video has gone viral on social media where a teacher of Bhattadev University in Assam’s Bajali was seen punishing a female student on the University premises.
Soon after the video went viral on social media, netizens have demanded stringent actions against the teacher in question.
As per reports, the teacher from Bhattadev University’s Education Department punished a 6th semester student of the same Department by asking her to do sit-ups in the University premises.
The student, while talking to reporters alleged that the teacher asked one of the students to record the video said that she is deeply disturbed by the incident.
The teacher identified as Jayshree Das has defended her action stating that the students made defamatory statements against her and her family. Moreover, Das also alleged that the students have taken made the video viral as she is strict during exam duty.
Meanwhile, the incident has been condemned by Assam Jatiyabadi Yuva Chattra Parishad’s Joint Secretary of the Central Committee, Mridul Talukdar who said that proper action must be taken in this regard.
