Assam’s woman cricketer Uma Chetry has found a spot in the India ‘A’ squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Women’s Asia Cup 2023 that would begin from June 12 in Hong Kong.
Twenty year old Uma, will be wicket keeping for India. India is slated to play its first match on June 13 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong. Eight teams are participating in the tournament who have been divided into Group A and Group B.
Group A has India, Hong Kong, Thailand and Pakistan and in Group B there are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and United Arab Emirates.
India ‘A’ squad includes — Shweta Sehrawat (Captain), Soumya Tiwari (vice-captain), Trisha Gongadi, Muskan Malik, Shreyanka Patil, Kanika Ahuja, Uma Chetry (wicketkeeper), Mamatha Madiwala (wicketkeeper), Titas Sadhu, Yashasri S, Kashvee Gautam, Parshavi Chopra, Mannat Kashyap, B Anusha.
