In a big breakthrough, the Assam Police have arrested a ULFA-Independent rebel besides two other linkmen from different parts of Eastern Assam.
The ULFA-I cadre was arrested from Bokota in Demow in Sivasagar district and has been identified as Biren Chetia alias Rantu Axom. The police have also seized a Chinese hand grenade from the possession of the rebel.
On the other hand, the two arrested ULFA-I linkman have been identified as Jitumon Tamuly and Akoni Raidongiya. The trio were arrested by security forces when they were taking shelter in the house of Girin Tamuly.
Meanwhile, the police also arrested another ULFA-I rebel from Sonari in Charaideo district. the rebel has been identified as Biman Gogoi alias Jeet Axom.
