Two persons trampled to death by elephants in Assam’s Kaliabor

The deceased have been identified as--Biren Lohar and Soma Munda

Two persons were trampled to death by a herd of elephants killed in Assam’s Nagaon district.

The incident occurred near Hatigaon Salkona Basti in Kaliabor on Tuesday.

As per inputs, a herd of wild elephants had stryed out of the forest and were destroying paddy crops in the area.

Locals tried to drive the elephants out of the fields. However, the attempts to drive out the elephants angered them, and the elephant herd attacked the locals killing two of them.

The deceased have been identified as–Biren Lohar and Soma Munda.
