As normal life in Imphal continues to stay paralysed due to 48 hour general strike, it seems like the authorities have decided to calm the agitated students.

Both the police officials including a sub inspector from West Imphal district, who lathi-charged DESAM students while they were staging protest outside BJP office on Tuesday have been suspended.

The state government has announced medical cover for DESAM secretary general Shital who was hurt during the lathi-charge.
