Tripura: Seven Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals Apprehended For Illegally Entering India

They have been booked under sections of Indian Passport Act and Foreigners Act and will be produced before the court today.

As many as seven suspected Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in Dharmanagar under North Tripura District for illegally entering India.

The group included two men, two women, and three children, who had been residing in Bangalore for an extended period since illegally entering India for work purposes in 2020.

They were apprehended when they arrived at Dharmanagar Railway Station by the Ham Safar Express upon their return journey to Bangladesh.

Police said that based on specific information, they conducted a search operation and detained them from Rajbari area on Monday for not having valid identification.

The apprehended people have been identified as Mohammad Liton Sheikh (35) and his wife Fatema Begum (28) along with their two children. They hailed from the district of Ratodanga in Bangladesh.

Additionally, three others were identified as Mohammad Mamun Rashid (21), Azija Begum (19), and their child, and they are residents of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Later, apprehended people were brought to the Dharmanagar police station for further legal proceedings.
