Debbarma personally extended a monetary support of Rs 50,000 to Dey’s family.

In a heartfelt gesture, TIPRA Motha Party founder and Tripura’s royal scion, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, visited the grieving family of Chiranjit Dey in Indranagar Majid Para, Agartala, on Saturday.

Chiranjit Dey tragically lost his life in the recent devastating floods that swept across the state. Keeping his earlier promise, Debbarma personally extended a monetary support of Rs 50,000 to Dey’s family.

Pradyot Kishore Debbarma had previously announced his commitment to providing Rs 50,000 from his personal resources to the families of all those who lost their lives in the recent floods, which have claimed a total of 31 lives across the state.

Most of the victims died due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall. The estimated loss for the state is around Rs 15,000 crore.

During his visit, Debbarma emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in the face of such a disaster.

He appealed to all political parties, including the opposition, to set aside their differences and work together in this time of crisis.

His call for solidarity underscores the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address the widespread damage and support the affected families.

Pradyot has been actively meeting with flood victims across Tripura, offering support and advocating for the timely and effective delivery of relief. His actions have been widely appreciated by the affected communities, who are grappling with the aftermath of one of the worst floods the state has seen in recent years.

It may be added that earlier the state government had announced Rs 4 lakh while the central government has sanctioned PMNRF ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the floods.
