Tripura has recorded 20 more cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, taking the total cases count in the state to 1,159.
Of the 20 fresh cases, 9 were detected in the first phase and 11 others were tested positive in the second phase.
Out of 1,250 samples tested today, 11 persons were found COVID-19 positive. Among them one is a truck driver and the rest have travel history.
The 11 new cases include 4 from Unokoti District, 3 each from Sepahijala District and North Tripura District and 1 from Dhalai District.
Taking to twitter, chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed, “Out of 1250 samples tested for COVID-19 today, more 1️⃣1️⃣ persons found POSITIVE. Among them 1 is truck driver & the others have travel history.”
“The count includes: Unokoti District: 04, Sepahijala District: 03, North District: 03, Dhalai District: 01,” Deb added.

Earlier in the day, 9 more persons tested positive for coronavirus, taking the state’s tally to 1,147.
The fresh cases were confirmed positive out of 130 samples sent for COVID-19 testing.
Among them, 3 are flight passengers with travel history while the rest are direct contacts of Covid patients.
The patients include 5 individuals from the state’s Khowai District, 3 from West Tripura District and 1 from Gomati district.
So far, a total of 639 persons have recovered from the disease and one person have succumbed to the deadly virus.
