Former Tripura Chief Secretary YP Singh, who is one of the prime accused in the alleged multi-crore PWD scam in the State is being produced at the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, West Agartala.

The police is seeking a remand for YP Singh who was brought back to the State on Wednesday morning after he was arrested at Ghaziabad in Delhi NCR on February 17.

YP Singh was absconding for almost 5 months, since an FIR into the alleged scam was lodged at the West Agartala Police Station.

Other than YP Singh, former Tripura PWD Minister and senior CPI-M leader Badal Choudhury and former Chief Engineer Sunil Bhowmick are also prime accused in the case.

However, Badal Choudhury and Sunil Bhowmick recently managed to secure bail from the Court and were released from the jail.

Badal Choudhury denied his involvement in the alleged scam and termed the indictment politically motivated.
