Tripura Police rescues kidnapped Assam man kidnapped, 2 held

Tripura police rescued a man from Assam who was kidnapped from Agartala. They arrested two kidnappers and are searching for more who maybe involved in the kidnapping, senior police officials said in Agartala today.
The incident happened on October 8 when Jilal Ahamed from Assam was taken away forcibly from Agartala. Police were alerted the next night as informed by SDPO Amtali, Asish Das Gupta.
They began a search operation and detained one person who gave information about the kidnapping. Police linked this to another person held by Kalamchora police. A joint operation led by SP West Tripura and SDPO Sonamura rescued the kidnapped person from Kulubari.
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, and a case has been registered at the A D Nagar police station.
The reason for the abduction is not known yet. The arrested people are Md Moirul Islam hailing from Bazarichara, Assam, and Jahir Hussain Chowdhury, a resident of Sukantanagar in Belonia, southern Tripura
According to the police, the kidnapped individual, Jilal Ahamed is in good health, and the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for his release.
