Former Tripura PWD Minister and top CPI-M leader Badal Choudhury has been reportedly absconding after he has been booked on graft charges in connection with alleged irregularities amounting to 600 crore rupees in construction work during his tenure as PWD minister from 2008 to 2009.

A case has been registered against Badal Choudhury, former PWD chief engineer Sunil Bhowmik and former Chief Secretary Yashpal Singh at the West Agartala Police Station under charges of fraudulent activities, corruption, criminal breach of trust and suppression of evidence among other charges.
