It was a mega show of strength by BJP in Tripura as Chief Minister Manik Saha filed his nominations today.
CM Saha was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister and NEDA convenor Himanta Bsiwa Sarma, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra among other senior BJP leaders.
CM Saha took a rath ride along with BJP’s topmost poll strategist in the northeast, CM Sarma, Manipur CM Singh and Patra as he went to the office of the returning officer to file his nomination to contest the upcoming polls from the Town Bordowali seat in West Tripura district.
Saha offered prayers before going to file his papers.
Saha, 70, was a Congress leader till 2016 when he joined BJP. A dental surgeon by profession, CM Saha used to teach in Tripura Medical College, Hapania before he took over as the 11th CM of Tripura on May 15, 2022, after Biplab Deb stepped down as the CM.
