Tripura CM Manik Saha turns 71 today, birthday wishes pour in

Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha is celebrating his 71st birthday today.

Warm birthday wishes poured in from Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of northeast.

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, tweeted, “Warm birthday wishes to Tripura Chief Minister @DrManikSaha2 Ji. Your leadership has played a crucial role in paving the way for peace and prosperity in Tripura, following the Modi Ji’s vision. Praying for your long and healthy life.”

Arunachal’s Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared his heartfelt greetings on Twitter, writing, “Greeting and birthday wishes to Hon’ble CM of Tripura, Dr Manik Saha Ji! May your special day be filled with happiness, good health, and continued success in your endeavors.”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, tweeted, “Birthday Greetings to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura Dr Manik Saha ji. He is steering the all round development of Tripura through policies of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. May Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Sankardev bless him with good health and a long life.”

Extending wishes, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Warm birthday greetings to the dynamic CM of Tripura, @DrManikSaha2 ji. His commitment to fulfil aspirations of our brothers and sisters in Tripura is admirable. May he be blessed with a happy, healthy and long life.”

Praying for his good health, long life, and success in all his endeavours in the service of the people”, Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister, Yanthungo Patton tweeted.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, also expressed his greetings on Twitter, saying,“Heartiest Birthday Greetings to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura @DrManikSaha2 Ji. The beautiful state has scaled newer heights of progress and prosperity under his able leadership. Praying for his long and healthy life in the service of the Nation.”

Before joining Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016, Saha was a member of Congress. He became the President of the BJP, Tripura unit in 2020 and continued till 2022. 

Saha was a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from April 3, 2022, until he became the Chief Minister for his first term in 2022. He is a BJP MLA from the Town Bordowali assembly constituency since June 26, 2022.

Before joining mainstream politics, Saha was a professor at the Tripura Medical College and Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital.

Saha received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in oral and maxillofacial surgery degrees from Bihar’s Patna Dental College and King George’s Medical University in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow respectively.
