Tripura: Bangladeshi and Iranian nationals arrested with suspected links to Pak militants, sent to 5-day police custody

The Bangladeshi and the Iranian nationals arrested with suspected Pakistani terror links were remanded to five days of police custody by a local Court in Tripura. This was informed by the Additional Public Prosecutor in charge, Bidyut Sutradhar.
The arrested individuals –Yakub Yazdanbakhsh, an Iranian resident, and Shahin Mondal from Bangladesh will be interrogated during their custody and will be produced before the court again on Thursday, June 29.
They were arrested by Tripura Police on June 20 from the Ashwini Market area in the outskirts of Agartala near Bangladesh border.
Based on inputs about two unidentified persons roaming around the area, a mobile patrol team of Amtoli police station was dispatched there. While on surveillance, police detained them and after they failed to provide any valid travel documents, police arrested them.
Police recovered a mobile phone from their possession and found photographs of Pakistani militant camps on the confiscated mobile phone.
