He said the ADC administration will announce the new dates for the recruitment examination after deciding the same in the next ten days.
The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council has decided to postpone the written examination for the recruitment of Sub Zonal Development Officers and Deputy Principal Officers, a day before the exams were scheduled to be conducted on Sunday.
The announcement was made by CK Jamatia, Chief Executive Officer, in the presence of Datamohan Jamatia, chairman of the Recruitment Board, and Moslim Uddin, Additional CEO, at a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club.
The decision comes after reports surfaced that the answer key for the examination had been leaked and widely distributed via WhatsApp.
While speaking to the media, Chief Executive Officer, CK Jamatia said, “The TTAADC administration took a decision to fill up 110 vacant posts of sub-zonal development officers and Deputy Principal Officers. In order to conduct the exams, a recruitment board was constituted. Initially, the exams were supposed to happen on June 16, 2024 but based on the requests of the aspiring candidates, we rescheduled the exams to June 9, 2024 as June 16 is also the date of UPSC prelims.”
“Just a day before the exams, the answer key of the question paper designed for the exams got leaked. The leaked answer keys reportedly reached the aspiring candidates and due to this unfortunate situation, we have decided to postpone the exams”, he added.
“The answer key was leaked through WhatsApp”, he further added.
The TTAADC authorities highlighted the significance of the recruitment exam, which was being conducted after a gap of at least twelve years, underscoring the importance of maintaining its integrity and fairness.
He also said the ADC administration will announce the new dates for the recruitment examination after deciding the same in the next ten days.
The authorities have emphasized the seriousness of the situation and assured that an FIR will be lodged at the West Agartala police station to investigate and apprehend those responsible for the leak.
Taking to social media on the issue, Tripura ADC’s ruling TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma said, “I have received a serious allegation against a leak in the answer sheet for the TTAADC examination to be held tomorrow. I have asked CK Jamatia (IAS) to immediately hold a press conference, postpone the examination, and file an FIR against those who were responsible for this.”
“Once evidence was given, we cross-checked it. It’s my firm commitment that there will be no room for corruption. I am thankful to the people who came forward and showed us the evidence,” he added.
He also said that those involved in the incident are being identified and strict action will be taken against them. “People have to be arrested and suspended immediately for this leak. I am tired and fed up of this sort of corruption , people have to go to jail for this . I thank the people who got in touch with me to expose this through twitter . @Tripura_Police spare no one @ttaadcofficial”, he added.
