Tripura: 5 Rohingyas arrested in Unakoti district

The foreigners had illegally entered India through the Kailashahar Maguruli border area from Bangladesh.

Just a day after the Border Security Force (BSF) reported that illegal infiltration has emerged as the biggest challenge for security forces guarding the India-Bangladesh Border in Tripura, Police have arrested 5 Rohingyas at Kailashahar in Unakoti district.

The foreigners had illegally entered India through the Kailashahar Maguruli border area from Bangladesh.

They were arrested from the Kailashahar Paiturbazar area in Tripura’s Unakoti district. Among the five Rohingyas are two minors along with three adults. As per Unakoti District Superintendent of Police Kanta Jahangir, the foreigners entered India from Myanmar refugee camps through Bangladesh.

The SP added interrogations are underway and the infiltrators have been arrested.
