In a tragic incident, as many as five people were buried alive on Saturday night when a newly constructed retaining wall collapsed due to landslide triggered by incessant rainfall since the past few days.
The incident took place at Doni colony of Itanagar where the five victims, all laborers resided. A team of the NDRF had to struggle this morning to recover the bodies.
All the five labourers identified as Pappu Katiya, Pappu Garel, Kanha Kenwar, Babloo Telenga and Jiten Telenga, hailed from Biswanath Chariali of Assam.
