The lone Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Meghalaya Saleng Sangma has said that TMC may have opened its account in the state, but it has to work from scratch to win the trust of the people.
Sangma opined that the TMC is largely perceived as a Bengal-based party and hence the party will have to make people understand that their agenda is for the state and hence they cannot take the voters for granted.
Talking about former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma’s jump from Congress to TMC along with 11 other MLAs, Saleng Sangma said that he cannot always hope to win people’s trust every time he jumps from one party to another.
While referring to the time when Mukul Sangma jumped from the NPP to the Congress, Saleng Sangma said that Mukul Sangma is not a tall leader like the late P.A. Sangma and hence he would have to prove his mettle to the voters here.
