Tinsukia Police nabs 5 fake ULFA cadres

In a latest anti-insurgency operation being carried out by the Tinsukia police, 5 persons disguised as fake ULFA-I cadres have been arrested.

The Tinsukia police was also helped by officials from Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat.

The names of those nabbed include Mintu Saikia alias Madhab das, Kolamoni Das alias Deka, Debokanta Das alias Raju, Baleswar Prasad Rai and Atul Bordoloi.

Before being apprehended, these five men have been allegedly extorting money in the name of the dreaded outfit.

According to sources, the fake cadres have already extorted money to the tune of Rs 2 lakh. Phone and sim cards used in the crime have also been recovered from them.
