Three Block Development Officers have been suspended in Assam’s Hailakandi district over corruption and non-performance charges.

These are Girish Chandra Baishya from Lala development block, Ranjit Kalita from Borjelenga development block and Saroj Das from Ramkrishna Nagar and North Karimganj development block.

All three have been accused of mismanagement and under-performance in various government schemes such as MGNREGA and PMGAY.

It is to be noted here that all three BDOs had been given strict instructions in a review meeting earlier, but they still did not care to improve their actions which kept on hampering the progress of the schemes.

The suspension comes after their performance issues continued to prevail even after that.
