In a recent incident that occurred on Sunday, a group of IPFT workers were attacked by a group of miscreants allegedly led by BJP activist Arup Deb while they were on their way to the Kailashahar police station in the state’s Unakoti District.
The police soon rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Police Superintendent of the Unakoti District, SP Lucky Chauhan and Kailashahar sub-divisional police officer Rajib Sengupta arrived at the spot with several other police personnel.
Though the police forces were eventually able to bring the situation under control, tension continues to prevail in Kailashahar post the clashes that occurred on Sunday.
